This is it. 2 minutes and 11 seconds of an amazing mini sneak peek at what is going to hit us next summer. The second trailer of The Dark Knight Rises has more meat than most summer blockbusters. And by the end of it, I was left gasping, trying to find a word to describe my overwhelmed state. Epic seemed like dwarfing its magnitude. And I am left craving for more. That’s all the right things what a trailer could possibly do. The trailer is embedded below.
Hit the jump, as we discuss and sort of dissect the whole 2 minutes, 11 seconds of the second trailer of The Dark Knight Rises.
The Amazing Spiderman has still got quite a while to be released. But for a franchise to be rebooted within just 5 years of its last release is a bit of a gamble for the production studio and everyone associated with the project. After all, what Sam Raimi and Tobey Maguire collectively did (at least for the first 2 installments) with Stan Lee’s most famous creation, Spiderman, is nothing less than an amazing feat. From the initial teaser trailer released of the Amazing Spiderman, things look like a bit of the same stuff – Spidey swinging across the city, and with no mention of the evil dudes so far, there is indeed the lacking menacing feel which is quintissential to every superhero movie – (C’mon, that’s the whole reason why we go to watch a Superhero movie – see him/her kick the serious ass out of the bad and evil dude). But am I reading way too much into it? Should I just calm the fuck down, and let the movie decide for itself when it gets released? After all its just a teaser trailer. Anywho, here are my thoughts from what we see in the trailer.
After the bootleg version did the rounds on the web, the official and visually clearer version of the Dark Knight Rises trailer has finally landed. And by all means, it is epic. The Dark Knight is three years old now (hard to believe, I know), and its run at the theatres gathered a lot of Box Office moola for Warner Bros. as well garnered highly favourable reviews from the critics. It literally set the standard for future superhero movies. The Dark Knight Rises, the third installment in the Nolan Batman trilogy, has definitely some big shoes to fill into, but we surely believe that Nolan’s conclusive chapter will be a bigger epic that will rightfully conclude this epic story arc. And by the looks of the trailer, I am left gasping with excitement and acute anxiousness. Here are a few thoughts on the minute and a half trailer of The Dark Knight Rises.
From Begins to Rises:
There are a lot of flashback scenes in the teaser which indicate that this is concluding chapter in the story arc. There are visuals of Bruce Wayne climbing out of the well in the grounds of Wayne Manor. There’s also some visuals of Bruce walking up the hill in the camp where he learned martial arts from Ra’s Al Ghul. Ra’s Al Ghul’s dialogue is reused in the trailer, and it somehow supports the online rumour that Ra’s daughter Talia, and the League of Shadows will feature in this movie.
The discussion continues after the jump. Also after the jump, is the awesome trailer in glorious HD.
It has been almost 5 solid years since the last Ethan Hunt adventure. With no signs of what the ‘Rabbit Foot’ actually was, Mr.Hunt is back, and by the looks of it, its going to be smashing. There is enough to make me totally pumped up for this movie since I am a big fan of the first movie, directed by the great Brian De Palma. Although the second in the series, directed by John Woo wasn’t a great movie, there were still traces of a fun action movie in it which made it an enjoyable ride. Things got much better with the third installment, especially with the inclusion of Phillip Seymour Hoffman as the cold baddie – Owen Davian, and some brilliantly choreographed action sequences. But this time around, I believe, the roof will be blown away.
The dude on the director’s chair is none other than Mr.Pixar himself – Brad Bird, aka the guy who gave us awesome animation features such as – The Iron Giant, The Incredibles and Ratatouille. This is his live-action directorial debut, and things couldn’t be more right.
A few strong points about the trailer are enlisted after the jump, and oh the trailer as well, in glorious HD. [click to continue…]
