There is a new poster for the Amazing Spiderman which just got released (via Cine-1). Have a look at it, how hideous is that!!!
It is hilarious to see how desperately Sony wants us to believe that this is the UNTOLD STORY, whatever that is. It has gone a bit too far, to plug that in bold white on the body of the poster. And there is pretty much nothing else than that, except for that red spider logo. C’mon Sony/ Marvel. Pull your socks up, and spend a bit more energy on this. The smudgy fonts aren’t helping either.
This is it. 2 minutes and 11 seconds of an amazing mini sneak peek at what is going to hit us next summer. The second trailer of The Dark Knight Rises has more meat than most summer blockbusters. And by the end of it, I was left gasping, trying to find a word to describe my overwhelmed state. Epic seemed like dwarfing its magnitude. And I am left craving for more. That’s all the right things what a trailer could possibly do. The trailer is embedded below.
Hit the jump, as we discuss and sort of dissect the whole 2 minutes, 11 seconds of the second trailer of The Dark Knight Rises.
It’s raining amazing posters in posterland, and we have volumes to speak about two of them. So let’s kick off things with no. 1 straight away.
The Dark Knight Rises Poster:
This is a classic example of how kickass a posters can possibly look . There is that familiar Frank Miller touch to this with the reflective white on the overpowering black (you know, the one’s we saw in Sin City). Nolan’s Dark Knight was heavily influenced by Frank Miller’s take on Batman’s origin – The Dark Knight, and the Dark Knight Returns. And it is not surprising to see that influence of imagery in this poster.
Also, what works here immensely, is the sheer power of Bane that is conveyed through that broken Bat mask. In the comics, Bane did break Batman’s back. And Nolan’s version seems to not tone down Bane’s strength at all. Will Bane really put an end to the Batman legend? That ominous tagline could have multiple interpretations. This is indeed Nolan’s end of the Batman trilogy, and we cannot wait for it to hit the screens. The teasers and the viral campaigns have started rolling out, and with this poster, we can only expect things to be on the rise for this Dark Knight movie. Until then, feast your eyes on this.
Poster rating: 5 Bat Masks Out of 5
Read on after the jump, as we discuss the other two posters – Amazing Spiderman, and Battleship.
Steven Spielberg is no stranger to the world of the larger than life movies. The man brought us dino-DNAs wrapped in amber, and T-Rexes chasing down jeeps. He also introduced us to Dr. Jones and melted our heart with the gleam in E.T.’s eyes. But somewhere during the noughties, his formula for blockbusters transformed into tamed affairs. Was it because we were seeing bigger explosions and better effects elsewhere? The last time we saw him in his fullest potential was when futuristic cop Tom Cruise had an eye transplant and was dodging precrime cops. That was the year 2002. Almost 9 years later, Steven Spielberg is back with a big bang! And it gives me immense pleasure to say, that the wait was well worth it. Teamed with co-producer Peter Jackson, and loaded with the technical brilliance of WETA, The Adventures Of Tintin is this year’s biggest movie by all means.
And before you can debate that, let me put forward my points.
