The first teaser trailer was a big disappointment, as the only bit of Spidey footage we got, was a reflection on a skyscraper’s glass window. With Sony hell-bent on correcting that first mistake, the newly released Amazing Spiderman trailer, looks like a step in the right direction. The trailer is here, embedded after the jump. And I’ve got a few good things to say about it as well.

There is a new poster for the Amazing Spiderman which just got released (via Cine-1). Have a look at it, how hideous is that!!!

It is hilarious to see how desperately Sony wants us to believe that this is the UNTOLD STORY, whatever that is. It has gone a bit too far, to plug that in bold white on the body of the poster. And there is pretty much nothing else than that, except for that red spider logo. C’mon Sony/ Marvel. Pull your socks up, and spend a bit more energy on this. The smudgy fonts aren’t helping either.

I am almost in the mood for the weekend, and then my geek nerves got all supercharged by this awesome sneak peek shot released by SONY. Yes, even though Marvel is owned by Disney, Spiderman is very much Sony’s still. Anywho, here is how the next Spiderman is going to look like – I mean, gone are the days of Tobey Maguire. Say hello to Andrew Garfield as our friendly neighbourhood and Amazing Spiderman.
Andrew Garfield as Superman
There hasn’t been any significant changes done to the costume since the last time we saw it in Spidey 3. As for Andrew Garfield being chosen as Peter Parker / Spiderman, I believe he’s going to be awesome. Not that Spiderman asks for Oscar worthy performances, but Andrew Garfield has surely pulled off some awesome onscreen roles in the recent past. His portrayal of Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin in The Social Network comes to my mind instantly when I think of the best performances of 2010.
Now, this first release of publicity still has got me all excited about the rebooted Spiderman, which is being directed by Marc Webb ( 500 Days of Summer ). But it is still being shot now, and will only hit the screens in summer 2012. Until then, all we got to do is maybe wait for more such stills, and a teaser perhaps!

This amazing illustration by Simon C Page shows how cleverly a single image can reveal dual layers effortlessly. The yellow portion of the poster shows the Tim Burton’s version of Oswald Cobblepot aka the Penguin. The nose and the bald head is a definite indication of Danny Devito as the Penguin. And in the black portion… hit the jump to see what’s in the black portion.
