It has been an awesome year for the actors – the leading men and the ladies. Extremely satisfied with the Academy’s nominees. There are surely some front runners, but the Academy has never failed to surprise – remember Adrien Brody?

For the Best Actor category, I’d say that Colin Firth (The King’s Speech), after his splendid run at the many awards preceding the Oscars, is almost definitely taking home the golden dude. Firth has brilliantly portrayed the desperation, the anguish and the anxiety of a man suffering the trauma of stammering and being ridiculed by his own family. The journey of this character’s growth to become the King, and his metamorphosis into a commander leading a nation is nothing less than an epic. Colin Firth deserves to win this.

As you know, we are on a rampage, discussing the nominations and predicting our winners and placing our bets etc. Here, we are discussing the Supporting Actor and Actresses, which are by no means, any lesser than the lead ones. These men and women have almost overshadowed their corresponding lead actors, with their absolutely stunning performances.
First up, Best Supporting Actor:

I know everyone’s screaming out Christian Bale (The Fighter) for this one. What can I say? The dude, although is a prick and an arrogant and vocally exploiting twat, when it comes to delivering a performance, he’s got it. Right from his physical transformation to a malnourished and underweight Dicky Eklund, the dude with a drug problem and many others, Bale nails it. Almost to the extent of overshadowing Wahlberg’s lead role, Christian Bale deserves every accolade he’s been getting so far.

So, we are counting down to the 83rd Academy Awards to be held on Sunday. And we are discussing the nominations in as details as possible. By the visuals category, I mean – Cinematography, Visual Effects and Editing. So let’s discuss.
CINEMATOGRAPHY:

I feel strongly for Inception, primarily because it has been left out of the race for Nolan to win Best Director. One of the most amazing things about Inception was its mix of real mechanical visuals of swooping cameras from and within high rise buildings to stellar landscapes.
