Any Comic Con event is incomplete without its fanatic and detailed cosplay section. This year’s London Comic Con had some of the finest of them lot. After all, its only at an event like this, where you can possibly see Batman and Doctor Who sharing a fag, and Captain Jack Sparrow texting, whilst StormTroopers look down upon Trekkies in yellow spacesuits and term them as – fucking nerds. Yep, it all happens here. Not to forget the awesome anime fanbois and fangirls. Here it is then -

We all agree about one universal truth – and that is Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight is a badass superhero movie. Heck, it is an amazing movie which goes beyond genre norms and transcends into sheer awesome territory. Here’s my review from the OKS Archives. I recently happened to watch it ( which I occasionally do) on the Blu Ray, and it is one helluva amazing movie. Cinematically, on the Blu Ray it looks amazing. Especially the IMAX scenes – the opening bank robbery scene, the Hong Kong skyline scene when Batman takes the awesome leap and of course the whole truck flipping scene are just rewind-inducing scenes. And since I have been making GIFs on Photoshop, I couldn’t help create these 9 awesome ones – all handpicked and chosen by yours truly. Enjoy them!

This amazing illustration by Simon C Page shows how cleverly a single image can reveal dual layers effortlessly. The yellow portion of the poster shows the Tim Burton’s version of Oswald Cobblepot aka the Penguin. The nose and the bald head is a definite indication of Danny Devito as the Penguin. Now this is something which completely took me by surprise. Even after all these years of Star Wars and Batman fandom, I failed to recognise how closely linked are the costumes of Darth Vader and Batman. And here it is, someone has just done that to make me realise my lack of vision.
This awesome mashup created by Erin Fife is awesome in every aspect. Have a look at it here.
Its really cool in terms of incorporating familiar elements of the Bat-suit with the Vader costume. But I wish that the Bat horns were excluded. After all, we’ve decided to call it Darth Knight, not Bat Vader innit. But even so, just the idea of someone fighting crime in the dark alleys of Gotham city with a light saber is beyond all awesomeness. Also, the reverse – which is Darth Vader vrooming in the Batmobile or perhaps, the Tumblr in a galaxy far far away – how very cool !!!
