Trailer Review: Second trailer, The Dark Knight Rises

by Sujoy on December 21, 2011

The Dark Knight Rises

This is it. 2 minutes and 11 seconds of an amazing mini sneak peek at what is going to hit us next summer. The second trailer of The Dark Knight Rises has more meat than most summer blockbusters. And by the end of it, I was left gasping, trying to find a word to describe my overwhelmed state. Epic seemed like dwarfing its magnitude. And I am left craving for more. That’s all the right things what a trailer could possibly do. The trailer is embedded below.

Hit the jump, as we discuss and sort of dissect the whole 2 minutes, 11 seconds of the second trailer of The Dark Knight Rises.

Trailer review: The Dark Knight Rises

by Sujoy on July 19, 2011

The Dark Knight Rises
After the bootleg version did the rounds on the web, the official and visually clearer version of the Dark Knight Rises trailer has finally landed. And by all means, it is epic. The Dark Knight is three years old now (hard to believe, I know), and its run at the theatres gathered a lot of Box Office moola for Warner Bros. as well garnered highly favourable reviews from the critics. It literally set the standard for future superhero movies. The Dark Knight Rises, the third installment in the Nolan Batman trilogy, has definitely some big shoes to fill into, but we surely believe that Nolan’s conclusive chapter will be a bigger epic that will rightfully conclude this epic story arc. And by the looks of the trailer, I am left gasping with excitement and acute anxiousness. Here are a few thoughts on the minute and a half trailer of The Dark Knight Rises.

From Begins to Rises:
The Dark Knight Rises

There are a lot of flashback scenes in the teaser which indicate that this is concluding chapter in the story arc. There are visuals of Bruce Wayne climbing out of the well in the grounds of Wayne Manor. There’s also some visuals of Bruce walking up the hill in the camp where he learned martial arts from Ra’s Al Ghul. Ra’s Al Ghul’s dialogue is reused in the trailer, and it somehow supports the online rumour that Ra’s daughter Talia, and the League of Shadows will feature in this movie.

The discussion continues after the jump. Also after the jump, is the awesome trailer in glorious HD.

Poster Mania: The Dark Knight Rises, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Captain America, The Thing, Muppets

by Sujoy on July 14, 2011

Hey ho! Poster Mania is back from the deep end of the abyss, and look at what stuff is cookin’. We’ve got DC and Marvel pulling out all the strings, and there’s Disney and 20th Century Fox as well. I can see you don’t care about the introductory text, so here we go, let’s roll.

THE DARK KNIGHT RISES

The Dark Knight Rises poster

That’s a pretty dark poster with all colours washed out, and from the looks of it, Gotham city is collapsing. The Nolan obsession with buildings continues, and we also get a sneaky Bat logo in the sky. What is surprising though, is that there is hardly any mention of the villains / baddies of the movie. Although Tom Hardy’s bulky Bane image has been on the official website for quite some time. But in Nolan we trust, and the wait to Summer 2012 couldn’t be any longer. Also glad to see the mention of IMAX there, and I am absolutely anticipating this to be an awesome showdown.

After the jump, more awesome posters.
