Any Comic Con event is incomplete without its fanatic and detailed cosplay section. This year’s London Comic Con had some of the finest of them lot. After all, its only at an event like this, where you can possibly see Batman and Doctor Who sharing a fag, and Captain Jack Sparrow texting, whilst StormTroopers look down upon Trekkies in yellow spacesuits and term them as – fucking nerds. Yep, it all happens here. Not to forget the awesome anime fanbois and fangirls. Here it is then -

9e3k has been on a hibernation for the last month or so. But we’re back and in true Hollywood fashion, the show must go on. Speaking of which, tonight is the biggest night of Hollywood. It’s the Academy Awards, and although we totally managed to skip through the Oscar buzz surrounding the blogosphere ever since the nominations were announced, we are definitely not going to miss the action tonight. We shall be discussing the nominations and the awarded movies as and when the envelopes are opened. Join for us a liveblog-ish discussion of the Oscars 2010.
The action continues after the Jump.

Dear Readers,
Statutory Warning: Please fasten your seat belts lest you don’t jump out of your seats to catch the atrokirina (seeds of the holy tree) flying in front of you.’
Please abide by this statutory warning or you could end up making a complete mockery of yourself in the theatre while watching the 3D version of Avatar. I did not follow that and soon realized it was the screen which had come alive due to the brilliance of advanced movie technology and the director James Cameron. Only after watching the movie did I realize why Cameron had waited for 15 years to make this movie. The state of the art movie technology wouldn’t have been possible 15 years back. This is not exactly a review of the movie. It is rather an appreciation of the stunning visual affects you experience in the movie. However please do watch it in 3D. I for one have watched both the 2D and the 3D versions and would recommend that to get the true essence of the movie watch it in 3D.

By the time this post gets the Publish button, James Cameron is laughing his way to the bank. Yes, this could be the week when Avatar crosses the 2 billion $ mark. It has already toppled Titanic from the no.1 grosser title, and FOX should already be pushing it. The trilogy is already on the cards, and what I hear from the awesome DenOfGeek , the sequel is already in pre-production stage. People are getting recruited for 3 to 5 year contracts, and although James Cameron has hinted that he’s yet to begin working on the script, the pre-production work could still take off.
In a post-Avatar world, where we do think now that Avatar has certainly raised the bar, other studio franchise movies are pushing themselves into the 3D realm. So, the big question is – Do we really need an Avatar Trilogy/Sequel?
I say – HELL YEAH!!!
Here are 10 reasons why we need an Avatar sequel.
1. The hard bit is done. It’s time to showcase the story
And by the hard bit I mean all the CG flora and fauna created to surround our vision of Pandora. That took ages to finish and now that the template is ready, and the filmmaker has already worked in that medium, it should be comparatively easier. And it would be such a shame if they were not put into use once again. Who doesn’t want to watch Pandora again eh? I know, I could go and watch another sitting of Avatar NOW. But James Cameron is the man who has given us the awesome sequels, and he definitely knows how to up the game.
